PICKING UP OBJECTS
Locate items that help solve the mystery.When picked up by a character, objects will appear in the "Inventory" located at the bottom of the game screen.You can use the objects whenever necessary.
THE INVENTORY
When you pick up an object, it appears in the inventory in the bottom left hand corner of the game screen as an icon. There are two ways to use objects from the inventory: Sometimes you can simply click on the icon of the object; on other occasions you need to drag and drop the icon onto the background or a character to activate the object.
Depending on the situation you're in, you simply click on the icon to use this object or on other occasions you need to drag and drop the icon on an element of the background or on a character to activate this object.
THE DURATION OF THE GAME
Be careful!In Arcane's universe, time elapses with each click of the mouse. If you run out of time, terrible things may happen! Remain cautious and avoidclicking needlessly.
You will learn to rely on your keenness of sight and your deductive abilities. If you click thoughtlessly, your character could be confined to a lunatic asylum or even devoured by a horrible creature of darkness!Be warned!
THE CHARACTERS
Each Arcane character is endowed with his (her) own skills, abilities and field of expertise. To win the game, you will have to master all of them.
Ophelia gathers clues by using her psychic powers. Prescott will employ his many technical tools, while Gregor consults an array of scientific documents or parchments written in forgotten languages.
OPHELIA'S DIARY
You may consult Ophelia's diary at any time for help. The diary enables you to save or load a game.
Click on the icon appearing at the bottom-right corner of the screen to open the diary; you will be able to perform the following:

Returning from his incredible adventure, Prescott woke us up at dawn. Around an enormous pot of strong coffee, Father and I learned, much to our dismay, that the Elder Star and its mysterious leader, the Cardinal, were once again involved in diabolical machinations.
Prescott's information about the dispersal of an ancient demon's body parts, and especially the legs and the hand he had brought back - a hand identical to the one I had found myself - immediately seized Father's interest.
The previous night, while we were at the hotel recovering from my adventure at the Concert Hall, Father had received a message from his old friend, Dr. Ebenezer Smith, who was the curator of the museum of anthropology. He had tried to call him back from the desk, but strangely enough there has been no answer.
Father decided to visit Dr. Smith at the museum to learn more about the dismembered demon, while we would try to sneak aboard Train 636...
Thus, Prescott and I rushed to the London train station; we arrived just as the train was beginning to move. Quietly, we made our way to the luggage compartment and climbed on board...
